I have the honor to inform you that in consequence of the length of
time that Mr. D. R. Caldwell served
the Government prior to the
resignation
of his appointment in September last, and understanding him to have been a zealous useful servant, His Excellency The Governor
is pleased to take a favorable view of
his
appeal – and to reappoint him to the office of Interpreter and
assistant Superintendent of Police, with directions to reside at the
central police station, where you will
have the
goodness furnish him with a Room. Mr Caldwell
is to be considered Interpreter to the
Supreme Court particularly, though his
